Poppies.

10” x 10” silk on raw canvas.

Inspired by the poppies in my mothers summer garden, I love the sheen of the silk against the roughness of the raw canvas. The movement and shine in the flat silk of the petals are tempered by the more rough texture of the twisted threads making up the leafy background.
